Pierre Omer was born in London of an Indian father and a Swiss mother. He is a founder member of the legendary Swiss funeral Rock'n'Roll band The Dead Brothers (guitars and accordion). In 2009 he started his solo projects and played with many musicians such as Robert Butler (the Shit, the Miracle Workers), Roland Bucher and Christian Aregger (Blind Butcher) until he gathered in 2013 Christoph Gantert (trumpet/ vocals), Jean-Philippe Geiser (double bass/ vocals) and Julien Israelian (drums/ percussion) and founded his current band PIERRE OMER’S SWING REVUE. Pierre Omer plays a very cool Django alike Swing Jazz guitar, a Gipsy Accordion and a Fats Waller Piano. His music digs up American and European roots from folk to blues and from country to gypsy swing and jive. It is played in a rough and electric way and in the spirit of Django Reinhardt to Nick Cave and from Bob Dylan to the Gun Club, but with the backbone in 30’s and 40’s swing (live: Montreux Jazz Festival in 2015, Le Cirque Electric, Paris in 2014).
For the recordings the band went to Outside Inside Studios in Italy (the Movie Star Junkies, the Monsters, Andy Dale Petty) to get a fresh and warm new sound. The album contains many originals and well selected, fantastic cover versions such as a vocal version of “Miserlou”. Other covers are “Russian Lullaby” (Irving Berlin), “Lotus Blossom” (Duke Ellington) and “Undecided” (Charlie Shavers). Pierre used also a text of London songwriter “She Rocola” and wrote the song “International Man of Mystery” around it.

Die Band hat sich nach dem Gleichnamigen film THE DEVILS (mit Kurt Russel 1971) benannt, kommend aus Napili in Süd Italien macht das irgendwie sinn, ihre Musik ist beinflusst von The Cramps, Hound Dog Taylor, The Gories, Jon Spencer, Fugazi, Hasil Adkins oder The Oblivians weil sie aber nur zu zweit sind müssen sie richtig Gas geben, Gianni Vessella Schrummt aud der Gitarre herum und spielt sie über einen bis ins maximum aufgedrehten Bass Amp dazu schreit in ein Verstaubtes 100 jähriges Mikrofon, Erica Toraldo schlägt so dermaßen auf ihr Schlagzeug ein dass sie regelmäßig die felle wechseln muss dazu schreit sie Hysterisch wie bessessen in ein noch verstaubterse noch älteres Mikrofon, dies erzeugt einen Sound dem es einem schwer fällt still zu stehen und nicht zu involvieren, die Gitarre ist Ultra Hart und das Schlagzeug Hi Speed Schnell und im Hinterkopf haben sie Rock'n'roll, als sie 2015 haben sie Unendliche Shows in Italien gespielt und auf einer Frankreich Tour Jim Diamond (Dirtbombs) kennengelernt mit dem sie dann diese Schallplatte in 2 tagen aufgenommen haben, am tag der Aufnahme haben sie Reverend Beat-Man das Demo in die hand gedrückt und somit bei Voodoo Rhythm unterschrieben, Gianni ist auf der Bühne Als Pfarrer verkleidet mit Gold Schuhen und Erika als Nonne mit Strapsen in Süd Italien hoch provokant hier hoch erotisch und in beiden teilen total Rock'n'Roll

Pierre Omer’s solo project, Pierre Omer’s Swing Revue, has dropped a new LP titled Swing Cremona. Released on independent Swiss label Voodoo Rhythm Records, Swing Cremona, is comprised of twelve tracks of cool, old-timey jazz and lively gypsy swing, with added bits of rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and folk. These compositions certainly combine elements from present day and bygone eras, and borrow from select styles of European and American music; and while such an endeavor might suggest a clashing of sounds, that definitely isn’t the case here.
Pierre Omer, founding member of the death-blues funeral string orchestra The Dead Brothers (guitars and accordion), plays guitar, organ, and sings in his solo work. To help him realize the material for Swing Cremona, Pierre Omer enlisted the help talented musicians Christoph Gantert (trumpet and vocals), Jean-Philippe Geiser (double bass and vocals), and Julien Israelian (percussion and backing vocals). Seven out of the twelve tracks on Swing Cremona are carefully selected covers of Irving Berlin’s “Russian Lullaby,” Louis Armstrong’s “Old Man Mose” and “Coconut Island,” a version of the traditional “Miserlou,” Duke Ellington’s “Lotus Blossom,” Charlie Shavers’ “Undecided,” and She Rocola’s lyrics for “International Man of Mystery.” There are two songs by other artists: “Baby Blue” by band mate Christoph Gantert, and “I Lost My Smile” by Meret Matter, who provided some vocal work on the record. But some of the standout tracks on the record are songs that Omer wrote himself, such as "Show Me Some Love," "Swing Cremona," and "Sophie."
In some ways the music of Pierre Omer's Swing Revue would fit in well beside such other acts as VulgarGrad, Mojo Juju & the Snake Oil Merchants, The World/Inferno Friendship Society, Devotchka, Django Rheinhardt, The Pussywarmers, The Dead Man Street Orchestra, and the like.

Die Swing-Revue besteht aus Gitarre, Trompete, Schlagzeug und Kontrabass und wird von Django Gypsy-jazzdämonen gejagt, von Swing-Furien gehetzt, ein höllisch leibhaftiger Sound zwischen Nick Cave (gesangstechnisch), Gun Club (fiebrigkeitsmäßig), Dead Brothers und Cherry Poppin'Daddies (musikspezifisch). Dazwischen finden sich Inseln aus ruhigeren Passagen, um den Derwisch ruhen oder besser abkühlen zu lassen, diabolischer Doom-Swing!

Als Sohn eines indischen Vaters in London geboren, lebt der Sänger, Songwriter und Multiinstrumentalist schon seit Teenagerjahren im schweizerischen Genf und war Gründungsmitglied der legendären "Beerdigungskapelle" THE DEAD BROTHERS - und dass er schon immer ein Faible für den Swing hatte, konnte man bereits damals erfahren. Für seine neue Band hat er nun drei Kompagnons aus den Tagen bei THE DEAD BROTHERS rekrutiert und taucht ganz tief in die 1930er und 40er Jahre ein: Swingender Jazz und Gypsy Swing, Jive sowie die Sounds von Harlem und New Orleans dieser Jahre werden mit dem "Teenage Revolution Groove" der 1980er Jahre aufgepfeffert und musiziert wird im Geiste von NICK CAVE und dem GUN CLUB. Mit dunkler Stimme singend und ausgerüstet mit einer mitreissenden Trompete, einer coolen Gitarre im Stil von DJANGO REINHARDT, einem Gypsy-Akkordeon und einem Piano nach Art von FATS WALLER versetzen einen die vier Herren in die Atmosphäre des Films "The Artist" und begeistern mit in ihrer ursprünglichen Version gespielten Tanzmusik - die live einen ordentlichen Schwung entwickelt, ohne dass sie durch den "Elektro-Fleischwolf" gedreht werden muss.
